Sleep Apnea Health Risks Symptoms Next Steps Diagnosis Treatment

What is treatment like?

There are many treatments available for sleep apnoea, but most doctors recommend Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy. CPAP therapy is safe, effective and does not require drugs or surgery.

Other treatments, including dental appliances, may have some benefits for people with mild sleep apnoea. There are also invasive surgeries available, however, they have variable success rates, and surgery always has a risk of short and long term complications.

Of the available treatment options, CPAP therapy is the safest and most effective. People on CPAP therapy reduce their health risks and have more energy to do the things they want to do.
